The Pied Piper Youth Theater Alumni
Kayla Hamilton has danced with The American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, Logrea Dance Academy and Leon Dance Arts of New York. Kayla has spent her previous 4 years choreographing the productions of PPYT. Along with choreographing, Kayla has played Velma in Hairspray, Mrs. Salt in Charlie in The Chocolate Factory, and Ariel in The Little Mermaid with PPYT. Attending The Hart School of Dance as a Dance Major, Kayla wishes to one day be a famous choreographer.
Chelsea Blaney was a proud member of the Pied Piper family for six wonderful years. Her roles with the theater included Tracy (Hairspray), Rizzo (Grease), Asaka (Once On This Island), and Princess Fiona (Shrek the Musical). PPYT sparked Chelsea’s love for Musical Theatre at a young age. After attending pre-college programs at both the Manhattan School of Music and the University of the Arts, she is now pursuing Musical Theater at AMDA, The American Musical & Dramatic Academy in NYC.” Chelsea owes so much thanks to Bonnie and John and everyone at Pied Piper for supporting her endeavors. She looks forward to visiting the theatre with the other alumni as she knows she’ll miss the memories along with the wonderful friends she made.
Rebecca Meyers has been involved with Pied Piper since the age 16. Her most recent roles include Mama Euralie (Once on this Island), Thing 1(Suessical), and Ronny (13). Rebecca has also assisted directed for the K-4 group, whose shows include Snow White and the Seven Drawers, and Aladdin. Rebecca will be attending Hofstra University as a Drama major.
Kim Hengel will be attending Dutchess Community College in the fall to study Business and will also be participating in an online program for Home Staging and Interior Decorating. Kim has been a part of the Pied Piper Youth Theater since 2009. During this time she performed in 7 shows including Little Shop of Horrors (Jewels), Hairspray (Amber), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Violet), Grease (Frenchy & Patty), 13 the Musical (Molly), The Little Mermaid (Flotsam), and Once on This Island (Storyteller 3). Kim has also been a part of costuming for The Little Mermaid and Stage Crew for Shrek. She hopes to be able to continue helping with PPYT shows in the future.
Kaitlin McCarthy has been going to the Pied Piper Youth theater since she was a freshman at Carmel High School. She enjoyed her role as Lily St. Regis in Annie so much that she decided to continue on with PPYT. Not only has she been in Annie, she’s been in Little Shop of Horrors; first as Ronnette, second as Satin. She’s also been in Bye Bye Birdie as Mrs. MacAfee, Seussical as the Cat in the Hat, Grease as Frenchy and Patty, Once on This Island, Hairspray as Amber, and Aladdin as a Silly girl. Kaitlin has also been involved in stage crew for Shrek the Musical. Kaitlin has loved and cherished all of her years being part of PPYT. She is going to Keene State College in New Hampshire for acting. She would like to thank Bonnie and John for always believing in her and for helping her grow as a person and an actress.
Elizabeth Lyons has been a part of the PPYT family since 2009 when she started theatre as a freshman in high school. She was in over ten productions with PPYT and she is proud of many of her roles, including Mrs. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors, Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, and Scuttle in The Little Mermaid. Elizabeth enjoyed assistant directing the K-4 group as well, performing shows such as Aladdin and Snow White with the younger kids. She owes many thanks to Bonnie and John for all of the help, happiness and memories they have given her over the years. Elizabeth is now studying Childhood Education at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY.
